Author Guidelines

Index Academic accepts original manuscripts in Romanian, English, and French within the journal’s scope.

Before submission, authors should ensure that the manuscript meets the following requirements:

  • the work is original and is not simultaneously under consideration by another journal;
  • any preprint, repository version, or previous publication with substantial overlap is disclosed;
  • all sources are properly cited and bibliographic references are complete and verifiable;
  • DOIs are included whenever available;
  • the manuscript is clearly and coherently written and follows a structure appropriate to the field and type of contribution;
  • the title, abstract, and keywords accurately describe the content;
  • author names and affiliations are entered completely in the OJS metadata;
  • an ORCID iD is provided where available;
  • conflicts of interest and funding sources are disclosed;
  • ethical approvals and consent information are provided where required;
  • substantial use of artificial intelligence tools is transparently disclosed;
  • authors have obtained the necessary permissions for third-party materials.

Manuscript Anonymization

Index Academic uses double-anonymous peer review.

The file intended for reviewers must not contain:

  • author names;
  • institutional affiliations;
  • email addresses;
  • biographies;
  • acknowledgements or other information that could reveal the authors’ identity.

Author information must be entered separately in OJS.

Manuscript Structure

Depending on the field and type of work, the manuscript may include:

  • title;
  • abstract;
  • keywords;
  • introduction;
  • theoretical background or literature review;
  • methodology;
  • results;
  • analysis/discussion;
  • conclusions;
  • statements on funding, conflicts of interest, author contributions, and AI use where relevant;
  • bibliographic references.

Theoretical, conceptual, or humanities papers may use a structure appropriate to the conventions of the relevant discipline.

Tables, Figures and Images

Tables and figures should be numbered, referred to in the text, and provided with clear titles or captions. Sources of non-original materials must be indicated, and authors are responsible for obtaining any required permissions.

Editorial Process

Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial assessment are normally sent to two independent reviewers under a double-anonymous peer review system.

The editorial decision may be:

  • acceptance;
  • acceptance with minor revisions;
  • major revision and re-evaluation;
  • rejection.

Publication Fees

No fees are charged for manuscript submission or peer review.

A publication fee of EUR 10 is charged for each accepted article and is payable only after acceptance.

Copyright and License

Authors retain copyright. Articles are published open access under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0) and receive an individual DOI.

By submitting the manuscript, the corresponding author confirms that all co-authors have approved the submitted version and agree to its submission to Index Academic.

Graphical Abstract

Authors may optionally submit a Graphical Abstract that visually summarises the objective, methodology, key findings and/or conclusion of the article. The material must accurately reflect the content of the work and comply with copyright requirements.

The Graphical Abstract may be created using graphic applications or artificial intelligence-based tools, with the authors remaining fully responsible for the accuracy and content of the final version.

Submission Preparation Checklist

  1. Manuscrisul este original, nu a fost publicat anterior în aceeași formă și nu este în curs de evaluare la o altă revistă.
  2. Toți autorii au aprobat versiunea trimisă și sunt de acord cu transmiterea acesteia către Index Academic.
  3. Manuscrisul se încadrează în obiectivele și domeniul revistei și respectă Instrucțiunile pentru autori.
  4. Fișierul destinat evaluării a fost anonimizat pentru procesul double-anonymous peer review și nu conține nume, afilieri sau alte informații care pot identifica autorii.
  5. Datele tuturor autorilor, inclusiv afilierea, țara, adresa de e-mail și ORCID, dacă este disponibil, vor fi introduse complet în metadatele OJS.
  6. Toate sursele utilizate sunt citate corespunzător, iar referințele bibliografice sunt complete și verificabile; DOI-urile au fost incluse acolo unde sunt disponibile.
  7. Orice material aparținând unor terți este utilizat legal, iar autorii au obținut permisiunile necesare pentru reproducerea acestuia, dacă este cazul.
  8. Conflictele de interese, sursele de finanțare și aprobările etice relevante au fost sau vor fi declarate în mod transparent.
  9. Orice utilizare substanțială a instrumentelor de inteligență artificială în pregătirea lucrării a fost sau va fi declarată în conformitate cu politica revistei.
  10. Autorii acceptă politica de acces deschis și publicarea articolului sub licența CC BY 4.0, în cazul acceptării manuscrisului.
  11. Autorii au luat cunoștință că nu există taxe pentru trimitere sau evaluare, iar pentru fiecare articol acceptat se percepe o taxă de publicare de 10 EUR.

Authors retain copyright in works published in Index Academic.

Upon acceptance for publication, authors grant the journal and its publisher, MultiMedia Publishing, the non-exclusive right of first publication and the right to publish, distribute, archive, and identify the article as originally published in Index Academic.

Articles are published open access under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which permits copying, distribution, adaptation, and reuse of the work, including for commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to the author and the original source.

Authors may distribute, archive, and reuse their own works in accordance with the terms of the license.

Authors are responsible for obtaining any necessary permissions for third-party materials that are not covered by the CC BY 4.0 license.

Privacy Statement

Index Academic and MultiMedia Publishing respect users’ privacy and process personal data in accordance with applicable data protection legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Data provided through this platform may include, where applicable, names, institutional affiliations, email addresses, ORCID iDs, contact details, areas of expertise, user account information, submitted manuscripts and metadata, and information required for the editorial and peer review processes.

These data are used only for purposes related to:

  • managing user accounts;
  • handling submissions and editorial workflows;
  • organizing peer review;
  • communicating with authors, reviewers, and editors;
  • publishing and indexing articles;
  • maintaining academic and editorial records;
  • operating, securing, and improving the platform.

Personal data are not sold and are not used for commercial purposes without an appropriate legal basis.

Access to personal data is limited to persons and service providers who require such access for the operation of the journal and editorial platform. Data may be disclosed where required by law or where necessary to protect the integrity of the editorial process.

Personal data are retained only for as long as necessary to fulfil the editorial, administrative, academic, and legal purposes for which they were collected. Certain information associated with publications and the scholarly record may be retained long term to preserve the integrity and traceability of the academic record.
